Hi,

I have set-up a secondary server to backup the primary server, the primary
server holds replica's of an Exchange cluster. We are currently backing up
the passive server only and this is working fine.

All jobs failed on the first replica creation on the secondary server apart
from the DPM directory and SQL datbases, all the replica's/diff areas
reported 30184 errors, see below.

DPM cannot continue protection for Volume E:\Program Files\Microsoft
DPM\DPM\Volumes\DiffArea\MAIL1.CLUSMB1.mail.com\Microsoft Exchange
Writer\xxxxx xxxxxx on DPM1.mail.org. (ID 30184)

When creating the job I did configure the initial replica creation to start
at midnight but the 24 hours sync will be happening at 22:00 each day, I just
wondered whether a sync has kicke off but hasn't got a full replica to sync
against. But I would still expect the ininitial replica to work at midnight,
which it hasn't.

BTW, I have select the primary server databases, e: volume (this is where
DPM is) and with this the volume directory within DPM which should catch the
replica's/diffs - is this the correct way?

Any suggestions would be appreciated?

I couldn't get it to work by following the recommended actions. Because it's
a new install I decided to create the protection group again and run the
replica creation immediately when submitting the job. The jobs have
completed successfully this way, I think it didn't like having the initial
replica creation schedule after the first recovering point, messed it up.
