I'm trying to get DPM to see my Powervault 124T LTO3 tape drive that has the
ability to load multiple tapes. DPM currently sees a stand alone drive: "IBM
Ultrium III tape Drive", with one drive.

I have attempted to run the rescan feature however there is no change, DPM
doesn't see multiple slots for the additional tapes. I am installed the
driver from dell. It reflects the version listed at the following site,
http://www.microsoft.com/systemcenter/dpm/partners/tapelib.mspx. I have also
updated the firmware of the loader and drive to reflect the version listed in
the webpage.

I tried to run DPMDrivemappingtool.exe but I get the followng error.
No Tape Library Found.
Drive Mapping Failed.
Error Code is: 0x80004004, Error Message is: Operation aborted

Please help....on my other DPM server I have been able to get DPM to see my
powervault 122T LTO2 and am testing it now. In device mgr on this server the
tape drive is listed as IBM utlrium III tape. Is that my problem. I have
attempted to install the tape drive using the ltotape.sys driver however I
think I am missing other files because windows will not complete the install
for this drive. Please help.

Thanks

Do you see the Medium changer device appear correctly in "devmgmt.msc" with
the correct drivers for the 124T?

Yes, in device mgr I see the medium changer listed as a "Dell Powervault 124T
autoloader" using the correct 2.0.4 drivers.

Can you ensure that no other application is holding an open handle to the
changer? That is the only other case I can think of.
